ATTORNEY GENERAL'S CHAMBERS,

Hongkong.. 26th October 1910.

Report on Ordinance No., .32 ... of 1910.

I have examined the accompanying Ordinance, entitled

An Ordinance to amend the Promissory Oaths Ordinance, 1869

and I am of opinion that the Ordinance is one which is not contrary to the Governor's Instructions,

This Ordinance substitutes a new Schedule for that contained in the Promissory Oaths Ordinance 1869 (No. 1 of 1869) with the view mainly of providing that the oaths required to be taken by Justices of the Peace shall in future be administered by a Police Magistrate.

The amendment was sanctioned by the Secretary of State in his despatch No. 234 9f 26th August 1910 and the name of the Auditor General

You Ju 3 out

has been omitted from the new Schedule as directed in that despatch.

Whees Jarres

Attorney General.
